solved a problem
For mounting a portable TV on a swinging wall mount the RCA ANT 1500 is ideal. Its reception is slightly better than an indoor VHF/UHF with gain control and we no longer have to adjust the ears every time we swing the TV for viewing.I`m now going to purchase one for our family TV which doesn`t have local channels on the satellite hook-up.I tried it on this TV and it is very much imroved over rabbit ears.We live 28 miles West of 3 stations within 3 degrees compass course,no obstructions, same elevation.I recommend this to anyone in a simiar situation.

A Must Read.....
Was really looking forward to a good signal. Pluged it in and got garbage.
BUT! One Very Important Step, Not To Overlook!, is if your TV has Digital Compatiable(meaning your not using a digital converter box), make sure you go into the setup menu on your TV and modify the settings so its looking for an Air/or Broadcast Signal. If there is a seperate setting avialble to choose from Analog to Digital, make sure you set that to Digital as well. Finally, also within you TV settings menu, make certain you perform a rescan of all signals.
Once I completed this task, Man I got some Good Looking Pictures. I can now see why news reporters and the like are'nt crazy about HD, you can practically see every facial blemish :)

Works flawlessly for me in San Francisco
Got mine yesterday, and reading all those reviews was wondering if it would work at all since it seems to depend on several factors.
Decided to try it anyway and I am glad I did. I live in San Francisco and and it works perfectly for me!
There are so many channels available that I am wondering why people are paying for cable and satellite when all this is available for free.

Surprise! It works as well as advertised!
I had nmy doubts when i ordered this. But it really does work and brought in a stronger signal than the old amplified signal rabbit ears and made the switch to DTV possible. Using the signal strength meter on the Zenith converter box, it's about twice the performance of the standard antenna. Saved me from having to mount an ungainly rooftop antenna. Very cool. It's slim and almost disappears when mounted on a white wall. Be aware that the recommended position for the antenna horizontal though. |
