| You get what you pay for (ditto)

| I agree. I have the same problem with the blinking green light and no response from print requests. I have only used the printer for about a year, and only light use. I just replaced the black and color cartridges, and now, I don't even have a good boat anchor! Just like I won't ever buy another Dodge, HP is out! I got the printer as a gift, but I am going to buy my next printer so I don't get HP!

| NOT WORTH THE TIME |
I guess I have more needs than the average person, BUT, if you have more than one computer, no matter what OS you use, you are guaranteed to have problems with this printer. I have 2 windows laptops, a linux laptop and a mac desktop pc. The only way to get ink cartridge status is from a local windows printer, and even then it is not always going to warn you that your cartridges are low.
Now I don't like booting up a laptop just to print from another, and my mac is always on, so this p-o-junk is plugged into my Mac. So I have no ink status at all.
And the HP drivers for Mac (as well as the generic drivers for Linux) do not use the black cartridge at all, so if your color runs out, you can only print from a windows machine.
If you purchase a network print server, which I did, this printer is not smart enough, nor does HP support, to print over the network to it. I could get a test page out of it once from each computer, then nothing after that.
So to recap, ONLY BUY THIS PRINTER IF YOU OWN A SINGLE WINDOWS XP DESKTOP COMPUTER AND WILL NEVER TRY TO PRINT FROM ANY OTHER COMPUTER TO IT. |

| You get what you pay for |
| This is not a very good printer at all...in fact, my experiences with it is that it's a cheap piece of junk. Ever since I purchased it around 2 years ago, it's constantly given me problems. The cord comes in two pieces and while easy enough to hook up, it's easy to inadvertantly lose one of the pieces and have to hunt for it, or have the two pieces disconnect. The printer jams all the time due to the paper feed mechanism that never seems to recognize the paper or sucks it in all at once. The ink doesn't last very long either...and while not terribly expensive to replace, I'm still having problems! I just replaced the black ink cartridge and now my printer won't even print a simple text document. The stupid green light blinks constantly and it's non-responsive to my print requests. Turning it off doesn't help either...my advice is to avoid dirt cheap printers, since you will end up spending their cost in ink cartridges eventually. Save yourself a headache and avoid this printer. |

| Piece of Crap |
I bought this printer because I got a new computer and had to upgrade my printer to be USB compatible. Worked fine for a month or two, then started having problems. It doesn't recognize there's paper in the tray, and when it does, it either doesn't pick it up and feed it, or it feeds it crooked, and the paper jams. Also, cartridges are exessively expensive, considering the price for the printer. What a waste of money.

| Cheap for a reason -- It doesn't like paper |
| At first I was happy to be able to purchase a printer for such a low price. However, the price should be even lower for this pile of junk. Every time I attempt to print, I spend several minutes trying to feed it paper. The printer will intake several pieces of paper at the same time instead of just one, and it will jam up. Even if I just feed it one piece of paper at a time, it will often still jam on just one piece of paper. Printing should not be this hard. These problems have occurred since I first purchased the printer. I regret purchasing this printer, as I should have went with a higher end model. I've lost respect for HP products because of the poor quality of this printer. |

| great inexpensive printer |
| I love this printer. Simple to use and great for the price. Cartridge doesn't last more than 2 months if you do a lot of printing, but inexpensive to replace and easy to find. |
