Happy with results
I just got this product to fix a scratch on an XBOX360 game that was scratched when I tripped over the cord of one of the controllers and the disk was damaged in the machine. One run through the Skip Dr repaired it without any problems. 4 stars only because the cost was high, but not as high as buying a new game.

Garbage
It does not remove the scratches which are big enough to cause playback errors. It only removes little tiny ones that weren't a problem anyway. Plus, it makes swirls on the DVD which you then need to polish off by hand. This is per their instructions and they're right, if you don't polish off the swirls by hand the DVD is unplayable. So, it's a machine that buffs off tiny no-problem scratches and leaves behind big scratches and actually creates problem swirls which you then have to polish off by hand -- this is a LOT of work, by the way. Dumb dumb product.

Fixed a game disc my Xbox 360 destroyed
The Xbox 360 suffers from a problem that is fairly well-known, wherein a disc that is spinning in the drive will jolt out of its spin if the console itself is picked up or jostled while running. This can and often does cause massive scratches in a circular pattern on the disc, making it unreadable.
This recently happened to my Guitar Hero World Tour disc, and it was unreadable. After trying several methods to fix it (including the toothpaste method) it was still unreadable. To be fair it seems that with enough time and endurance the toothpaste method may have worked, but I spent over an hour on it and it was still unreadable.
I finally caved and bought this bad boy. I ran my damaged disc through it and after 2 passes it worked like a charm. It may have been ok after 1 pass, but I figured it was so screwed up I'd just go for 2 from the get-go and didn't even try it after the first pass.
Considering this cost me roughly half the money of a new Xbox 360 game I'm pleased, and I'll certainly be using it to clean up any other discs I have that could use it. |

It Actually Works
I was skeptical, but after reading so many positive reviews I figured I'd give it a try. Guitar Hero III for the Wii worked for the most part, but there were certain songs that would ALWAYS cause an error, prompting you to eject the disc from the Wii. I ran it through once and tried it but still got the same error. Many of the reviews mentioned they had to try it a few times, so I ran it through a 2nd time and still had the error. 3rd times a charm, and it's working great. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before starting. You have to spray the disc liberally with the solution so it's pretty wet. After running it through the machine, dry it off with the supplied cloth, then buff it out with the supplied smaller cloth. It leaves repeating marks on the disc, but you can still get it pretty shiny with the cloth and it seems to work fine. |

Great product for the money
I bought this because my 2 yr old son got into several dvds, xbox 360 and ps2 games. Needless to say there were several that would read disc error. I was skeptical but ordered the skip dr. and I am sure glad I did. It fixed all of my scratched discs. I will say that for some of them I had to repeat the fixing process a few times before they would work but definately worth it. It is very easy to use. I even have neighborhood boys bringing their discs over to fix them. The whole neighborhood is happier now!!!!!!!!!!!!
