| Absolutely The Best!!! |
I've owned these headphones for one year. I'm a believer in giving a product a thorough trial before rating it. Simply stated, these are the best noise cancelling headphones for travellers that you can buy at any price.
I fly about 80,000 miles per year. As you road warriors know, airplane noise and screaming nose miners can really grate on you during those 12 hour flights. These headphones greatly reduce these noises giving you a chance to read or sleep. I used the Bose several times as a freebie in Business Class, and although the noise cancelling is similar, the on-the-ear style makes your ears numb after several hours, requiring removal to regain the circulation in your ears. The over-the-ear type eliminate this discomfort and also reduces the non-steady (mindless conversation and kids screaming) noise that has become the norm on airplanes these days. Other Pros: Removable Wire Connection, Robust Carrying Case, Durability, Battery Life Cons: None
I've recommended these to my international travel colleagues and all are grateful. You will be too!!! |

| Great unit for the price |
Been using a Sony MDR-NC6 headphone for a while, and wasn't satisfied with the sound quality or the fact that it's just foam pressed against the ears rather than a set that surrounds the ear and helps seal out noise. The active noise cancelling on them also seemed to create as much noise as it hid. It did a decent job of hiding background noises, but also made its own little whining sound as well when turned on.
These do a much better job of cancelling noise without any noise-making of their own. The sound is great, other than as another reviewer pointed out, the bass. It's not bad, it's better than most that I've used, but not the best. But that is about the only real downside, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
Comfortable, the ear pieces pivot with some friction, so you can actually set them to a good angle and it will hold that even against some light pressure. The only other downside (but not bad enough to rate losing a star) is the size of the earcups. I They are high enough but I wish there were a little more room front to back. I don't have large ears, but I find the back of the ears is just a little squished under the padding, or else I just "tuck them in".
All in all, a great product. Very happy with this purchase. |

| Made for small people |
I've previously owned both the Bose QC2's, and the Logitech NC headphones, both of which were more comfortable than these. I'm a pretty big guy so the edges of the ear-covers still sit of top of my ears somewhat; so if you're somewhat big-headed (like me) I don't recommend these. The discomfort prevents me from wearing them for more than an hour or two at a time which is pretty annoying.
About noise-bleeding that other people were talking about: If you listen at a normal volume someone in the next cubicle over won't be able to hear you. However, if you like to bump it, hope that your co-workers do too.
The sturdy construction is nice. I had two QC2's break on me over 2 years and the logitechs also broke after a year. These will probably hold up much longer. |
