| Setup was fairly easy with my iMac |
| I don't know much about computers or battery back-ups. I bought this one because the price seemed reasonable. I like the fact that it can be controlled by my mac, and it has a little icon on my desktop that tells me how much of the battery-charge is available for use in a power failure. My only complaint is that it was a little frustrating to connect the internal battery when I received it. The battery is unconnected when shipped and must be connected/plugged-in by the user in order to activate the unit. Here's the problem; the tiny battery-cable was a little too short and made it very difficult to maneuver the battery back into its tight compartment once I connected the battery. |

| Reliable UPS For Home and Office! - Recommended! |
We have 5 "APC Back-UPS ES 8 Outlet 550VA 120V" units (2 at home and 3 in our shop) because our area is afflicted with "brown outs" and surges all year 'round. Our power is so bad that we have gone through 2 PCs, 3 printers, 3 microwaves, 1 oven, and several digital clocks over the past 5 years.
Prior to getting these APC UPS units, we only had one UPS by a different company and that blew out within a year of moving in (taking a PC with it).
The unit has 8 outlets (4 UPS and 4 surge protected), including 2 larger spaced "transformer" outlets.
We really like the APC units and have much better peace of mind when the power flickers and our PCs stay on.
Highly recommended!

| Does It's Job |
| An outside outlet used by my sub contractors is on the same circuit as my computer and kept tripping the breaker using certain power tools... this APC now stops me from going down unexpectedly and will shut down my computer gracefully if the power does not come back and I'm not around. |
