| Horrible |
This adapter is junk. If you like added irritation while at the computer, by all means indulge in one of these little knockoffs.
Let's see..I am on my laptop with this adapter right now. If the wire moves it cuts out. The green light that indicates power is getting to the transformer? or whatever that box thing on the cord? will go out and leave my laptop with no power.
If I plug this in many times my computer reads that it is getting NO power. A couple hits to that box thing sometimes fixes it. The cord is shorter than the original. The box thing just feels cheaper and lighter as well.
This thing is cheap (have I mentioned that already?) and in no way is a decent replacement for the original part. Suck it up and go to Dell if you need a new adapter, this way you don't get stuck writing reviews on Amazon about how you wasted $$ and should have read the reviews..:( |

| Good cheap replacement |
I bought this for my daughter's laptop after the original adapter broke. Yes, it gets a hotter than the original, but the original Dell adapter didn't exactly run COOL to begin with. Keep it in a well-ventilated area and you should be fine.
The only real problem that I have is the cord is noticeably shorter than the original, which required using an extension cord to keep the computer in the same place as before.
It's a good value for the money. If you want something better, then spend the $65 and order the Dell replacement. If you want something that will do the job cheaply, then this will get it done. |

| Be careful |
Be very careful when using this product. My parents were using as a replacement to their old one, two days after using it they came home to their house smelling like fish. They followed the smell down stairs and realized it was coming from the outlet the laptop was pluged into.
From other reviews I've read that the charger gets very very hot and they're worried about burning things, well my mothers outlet singed up back into the wall and up the cords inside the wall atleast 10 inches. everything thing else that was plugged into the same outlet (even through a power strip!) was burnt as well at the prongs. This caused some of the items to not work any more. If my mother wouldn't of caught it our house would of surely caught on fire from the looks of the outlet after words.
I'm not entirely sure the adapter is what did it, but because of the many other reviews I've read and what happend after my mother had it plugged into the wall, I can only make an assumption that it was the cord.
I'm not 100% sure it was the cord, but my recommendation if you are considering this cheap alternative is to go through the revews and make your own decision. |

| Didn't work at all when it arrived |
| When I got the adapter it didn't work at all. The led built into the power supply didn't even light. They immediately refunded my money without any questions but what I was looking for was an adapter I could use. |

| Worked Great for Awhile |
| I had this for 4 months before it started acting up and at 6 months it's dead. Just as others have noted, it got very hot. I worried about burning myself or setting fire to something. Still, it is really inexpensive and everything else I've found seems to have the same problems. Overall, I think it's worth it. Just be careful about burning things. |
